Afternoon Literature Groups

Members of this interest group select fiction and non-fiction books to read and discuss at small-group meetings from August through May of each calendar year. New members to the interest group may select to join either the Wednesday or Thursday group. Both groups read the same books and meet on their respective 3rd week of the month. Highlights of the year include our End of Summer Gathering & Book Sharing, September Tea, December Holiday Luncheon, and the May End-of-Year Luncheon. Evening Literature Group

Members of this interest group select fiction and non-fiction books to read and discuss at small-group meetings throughout the year except for January, February, and October. Summer Mysteries Group

This group meets for lunch and discussion of a mystery book the third Wednesday of the month during June, July, and August. At the June lunch, books are selected for the rest of the summer and June of the next year. Contact Helene Iverson at (920) 205-5220 for further information.

Social Justice Group

The group has decided to expand our focus beyond the topic of racism to focus on equity. Equity could be racial equity, gender equity, economic equity, access to healthcare, access to educational opportunities, and more. We meet monthly on the fourth Tuesday evening. Recommended supplementary reading are listed in the link below. Reading Resources for Social Justice Group

Ethnic and Elegant Dining Group

Learn about new cuisines, try new recipes while enjoying a dinner out with fellow members. Participate as a single or as a couple with spouse or with another member. The group meets during the fall for an appetizer & dessert cocktail party at which menu packets are handed out. Hosts and their assigned guests are rotated for three preset dinner menus to be held in Jan/Feb, Mar/April, and May/June. Contact Nancy Samson at (920) 857-5322 for further information.

Travel Group

From art museums to lighthouses, planetariums to historical sites, this interest group is open to all branch members and prospective members. Excursions are planned to places of interest for either day trips, overnight, or weekend trips. Mah Jongg

American-style mah jongg is played weekly at members’ homes. New learners always welcome; orientation sessions to learn the game are set up on an as needed basis. Contact Sylvia Bull at (920) 731-4364 for further information.

When hard times hit, we want to support our branch members whether it’s with a card to cheer you up, a meal provided, a visitor to chat with, or a transportation need filled. Contact JaneAnne McCabe at (920) 382-0031 if you’re available to help out or if you’re in need of assistance.
